As our civil rights and civil liberties face threats at the federal level, it’s more important than ever that we safeguard them here at home.

Capitol Corps is an opportunity to build relationships with our Iowa state legislators to ensure that every Iowan has the right to live in dignity and freedom.

Capitol Corps volunteers meet with legislators about ACLU of Iowa core issues in person throughout the legislative session, which runs from January through May.

Volunteers either participate in ‘capitol days’ every other Tuesday at the Iowa state capitol during the session or they can meet with their local legislators ‘in-district’. ACLU staff support volunteers at every step!
