Des Moines, Iowa — Today, the ACLU of Iowa, on behalf of Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, filed a lawsuit to block a law excluding Planned Parenthood of the Heartland from receiving crucial funding to provide sex education for youth in Iowa.
Today Sen. Mark Costello introduced a cruel, dangerous amendment to HF 766, the Health and Human Services budget bill, now being considered by the Iowa Senate. It would exclude coverage for gender-affirming surgery for transgender Iowans on Medicaid.
